Cars 2 and 3 have messages of their own.  In Cars 2, the characters have to adapt to unexpected circumstances.  But in Cars 3, the real leadership lesson is that Lightning McQueen becomes a mentor.

Cars 2 reminds us that we need to be aware of others and not be judgmental.  Mater is initially seen as unimpressive but becomes an asset in a spy mission.  This shows that leadership often depends on recognizing and valuing people for their strengths, not just their surface-level image.

Cars 3 introduced Cruz Ramirez who was inexperienced as a racer but while working with Lightning, they are both able to transform.  Lightning becomes a mentor and truly transforms his leadership style.  Cruz evolves into a true leader with the coaching provided by Lightning along with practice and self-confidence.

In both Cars 2 and 3, the leadership theme is that we must leverage both experience and trust.  Mater’s experience in handling unexpected situations and his loyalty to Lightning demonstrate that strong teams thrive when members trust each other and bring complementary skills.  In the case of Cruz, we are reminded that true leadership includes standing by your team through setbacks and adapting to new circumstances.
