Everyone knows what a Disney fan I am…but I am also a Pixar movie fan and this summer with the release of Toy Story 5, Pixar will have 30 feature films! I also have people tell me all the time about how they loved my posts about how we are like Disney princesses…so I thought I would have some more fun this year and tell you about all my favorite Pixar movies and the characters in them…and of course, what we can learn from those characters.
Let’s start by talking about Pixar films and why they are important (and not just to me). Pixar truly believes in quality over quantity. Their attention to detail, especially when it comes to character development, can make you forget that you are watching an animated movie! Just to prove it, Pixar was founded in 1986…so 30 movies in 40 years?!
Pixar films also have a cultural impact and diverse appeal. The films have truly influenced popular culture. Also, the films are suitable for all ages, which makes them relevant and loved no matter what age you are or even if you watch them many years from now!
But I truly feel that the biggest reason that Pixar films are so popular has to do with the emotional storytelling. All the stories are not only relatable and thought-provoking but also contain moral lessons.
Let’s start by taking two polls. First, how many have you seen? And which is your favorite Pixar movie?
Here is the list:
Toy Story (currently 1 to 4) and Lightyear
A Bug’s Life
Monsters, Inc. and Monsters University
Finding Nemo and Finding Dory
The Incredibles (1 and 2)
Cars (1 to 3)
Ratatouille
WALL-E
Up
Brave
Inside Out (1 and 2)
The Good Dinosaur
Coco
Onward
Soul
Luca
Turning Red
Elemental
Elio
