Instead of a newsletter, last week I put a poll out on LinkedIn about “Women Supporting Women” and would like to share the results.
The question was:
While we value honest voices, being truly authentic – sharing what we genuinely think and feel – can sometimes create tension, especially when others may not be ready to hear it. What have you observed when women speak with compete authenticity in challenging situations?
Helps “clear the air” 73%
May create more conflict 18%
May turn others against me 0%
I’m not – afraid of backlash 9%
I was honestly happy to see that over 70% of you were having honest and authentic conversations that helped to clear the air! By having these conversations, it makes for effective collaboration and is crucial to an ongoing healthy relationship. Some of the important takeaways are:
- It builds trust by creating transparency between individuals
- It enhances understanding by having an open dialogue for the sharing of perspectives
- It resolves conflict by addressing misunderstandings and making way for resolution
- It encourages growth as constructive criticism can promote personal and professional development
More to come over the next few weeks about the 30% that don’t feel that an authentic response is the way to go.
