So last week we set our goal…how did we do? Are we already saying just forget it? Please stick with it!! This is a goal that you set for yourself and obviously it is important to you! So, let’s work together to achieve it.
First make sure you are tracking your progress to your goal. Maybe making a list of small items that will work toward your goal might help. This way you can make sure you are progressing toward your ultimate goal. Also remember that it isn’t going to happen overnight, any small step toward your goal is an achievement! Some ways that you might want to monitor your progress toward your goal is to have a journal or notebook to track your progress. I don’t know about you but checking things off a list always helps me to stay motivated. You could also use a calendar depending on your ultimate goal and use a window to complete the smaller steps toward the goal.
When we use SMART goals, we can easily track our progress (which achieving some progress with definitely keep us motivated). Things to consider is to make sure that you are using the correct indicators to show whether you are moving closer to your goal. And make sure those indicators are easy to track. One other thing to consider is now that we are a week into our goal, we may need to adjust your strategy. This is not a failure but instead will help you overcome any obstacles and will ultimately get you to your goal! Adjusting your strategy will also help you to celebrate what you have achieved!
